Because I had been given a stern warning by my friend Obong, I still showed up for our appointment when I was exhausted from too many Sunday activities.

Immediately noticing that his studio assistant was absent and my guy chilling on a Sofa, I imagined he was tired and was glad that We won’t have to waste time doing anything that late evening. Perhaps, we will just have some small chats over chicken Suya my friend Frank de Tenor bought me and I will quickly be on my way home to rest.

Things seemed to be happening as I predicted; you know i started with, we could even do this singing thing tomorrow by 5 pm so you (Obong) can have time to relax, you work too much you know. I thought my guy was considering this offer but suddenly he said ‘But you are here already na, let us just do what we can do today. You know how unpredictable Monday could turn out. There is no point pushing to tomorrow what we could have achieved today (sounding like a motivational speaker) 😁.’.

I disliked this guy for one moment for pushing but I need to prove to him that I was serious about my vision (Don’t bother guessing). I was shocked that a session with this guy lasted just 30 minutes and before 10 pm I was home and snoring away.

Waking up, Obong sent me the best morning gift, something better than breakfast in bed. He stayed up while I left and showed me that our wait was worth it. He shared the result of our work that night.

I know you like suspense so I will just have that to myself so I can have something to share tomorrow.

Working with Obong that night, I understood better why Jesus sent out the disciples in twos. When one is tired, the other can urge the other on.

  • YOU NEED A PARTNER FOR PROGRESS.
  • YOUR PARTNER WILL KEEP YOU FROM PROCRASTINATING.
  • YOUR PARTNER WILL KEEP YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE THINGS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO.
  • YOUR PARTNER WILL HELP YOU WIN.

Shalom.
