Kevin and Chuka were friends and roommates at the university. While they walked to campus for lectures one day, they saw a damsel, Bintu and couldn’t take their eyes off her. They expressed interest in dating her, and no one was willing to bulge for the other person.

Following their disagreement, they agreed to toast her (woo her) and let the best man win. It would be up to Bintu to choose who she’d like to date.

Two days later, Kevin returned to the hostel unusually happy and announced to Chuka and the other roommates, ‘Guess what?’ he began, ‘I spoke with Bintu today and told her about my interest in dating her, and she said okay. But you guys know exams are around the corner, so I told her we will begin next semester. I took her number, check it out. Congratulations became the word for the evening because Bintu was truly a big catch.

Kevin and Chuka, though friends, never read together during exams. Kevin makes sure everyone becomes a stranger during those periods. He would usually shut out and sometimes check into affordable hotels because he wanted to give maximum attention to his studies. Thus, he was usually unaware of anything else during those periods.
