LEARN MORE TO EARN MORE
One of my friends walked into my office a few months ago asking me to show him the way to entrepreneurship.
Well, I had a few tips to share but I also remarked that we are in a unique country; Nigeria where things scribbled in the books about entrepreneurship may not always apply. Sometimes you just have to try things instinctively that may just be the boom.
Curious, I asked him why he wanted to leave the plum job that got him all the nice cars, jackets and trips abroad.
In a response that shocked me, he said, he had been earning the same salary for the past 7 years. He told me, he got so upset and came to see me because
another promotion list was released and he found that some of his supervisees were either at the same position as he was and some ahead with bigger responsibilities.
I had just 2 questions:
1. In the past 6 years, what have you done differently from what you are doing now?
2. How many new degrees, certifications, training have you acquired to add value to your job?
Well, your guess about his response is as good as mine.
