I FOUND A CURE FOR ONE OF MY SICKNESSES — PROCRASTINATION
Hmmm, I could procrastinate for Africa. The moment I am aware the dateline for that activity is tomorrow, the do it later spirits creeps in and I end up rushing to finish the activity or a few times abandoning it. I have often wondered during my reflective moment how my bad habit of procrastination has caused me so many great opportunities.
At the beginning of the year, I tagged the Year 2021 as my year of transformation and procrastination was one of the sins I was determined to repent from.
A few days ago, when I started studying how to deal with this habit, I stumbled on one of the famous questions that made Steve Jobs super productive “WHAT WOULD I DO IF THIS WAS THE LAST DAY OF MY LIFE?”. I read that Steve hardly missed an opportunity as long as he still had time within the day to finish what he needed to finish.
It has been only 3 days since I started applying that question in my life and I have sincerely done more in 3 days than I have done in 3 weeks.
I have turned in deliverables
I have made peace with many I offended
I have submitted proposals that I had left hanging for months etc.
Perhaps, it is your turn to act by asking, WHAT YOU WOULD DO IF TODAY IS THE LAST DAY OF YOUR LIFE?
Shalom
