After a major speech, a lady walked to Robin Sharma and said (I paraphrased) ‘My father lived your words. 5000 people were at his funeral and he wasn’t a big politician, a big businessman etc., he was simply a man who wore a smile always on his face and was always the first to be the one who helped anyone in need. The whole town was at his funeral to honour him).

When my father passed, I was simply too amazed at the number of people who also attended his funeral making me wonder what was really great about this man I saw as ordinary until I heard people say:

‘Your dad often shared his lunch with me’

‘Oh, your dad, always brought me fishes every time he returned from a trip’

‘Your dad helped me pay my kids fees’

‘Your dad was always at morning masses’

‘I don’t think I met anyone who would rather take a lower share in the interest of peace’ etc.

I have read about many good people that life has honoured not because they had large bank accounts but because they touched lives with their goodness and I hope I will be able to have such records that make our world a better place.

Do you want to be honoured like #NelsonMandela, #MotherTheresa, #Gandhi?

Start doing all the good you can from today. It matters and it makes our world better.

Shalom
