EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE A LEADER

The following traits about what Leaders should be doing resonates with me when I reflect:

  1. Leaders take responsibility for getting results that they generate (good or bad)
  2. Leaders take part in shaping the culture they desire
  3. Leaders are positive and inspiring
  4. Leaders keep the customers happy and protect the brand etc.

So, I tend to agree with Robin Sharma when he says “Everyone needs to be a Leader” irrespective of what position or role you have been given to play within a system or any organisation.

Imagine a soccer scenario where there are wingers, defenders, midfielders, strikers, goalkeepers, etc. Even though the captain heads the team, every player on the pitch is responsible for the optimal performance of the wings play if the team will be victorious in competitions.

The CEO mostly provides a direction for the organisation and supervises executions towards progress but he alone cannot guarantee success if other process owners; accounts, admin, marketing do not execute their roles optimally.

If we look at ourselves differently, more as LEADERS than mere employees, we will make our organisations thrive better.

WE ARE ALL LEADERS.

Shalom
