BE NICE — IT HAS A GREAT ADVANTAGE

What makes you patronise a place a second time, a third and many more times than you can count?

My best restaurant in Abuja, Nigeria remains Jevinik.

It is not because the food is cheap (it is not cheap but the price is right).
It is not because service is fast (food is served at the right time of course).
It is not because the portions are right (food is actually in the right quantities).
It is not because the food is served hot (it is always in the right condition)
It is not because what I want to eat is available almost all the time (They have got the right Menu or products in place though)

It is rather because the environment is filled with a lot of nice people. Even when the highly patronised restaurant is filled with people with no space to park cars, the security warden warmly tries to get us a place he promises our car will be safe (he doesn’t say “cars are parked at the owner’s risk”).

The waiters; all men 😁 are always beaming with smiles even if we all know deep down they may think about their kid’s fees and other commitments they may have after work.

The supervisors sometimes do not fail to ask, if you are enjoying your meal and if you would be needing anything else.

In fact, at the end of every experience, you feel motivated to drop a tip.

I sometimes try to replicate these contagious traits at work and in business and it makes the company do well (we are still learning the culture).

Robin Sharma said “NICE IS WHAT BUILDS ENDURING BUSINESSES”

A GOOD SUPPLY CHAIN FULFILLING ALL THE 5 or 6 or 7 RIGHTS IS GOOD BUT NICE HAS A GREAT EFFECT.

BE NICE.

Shalom.
